We were so enthusiastic about having a place to communicate but it doesn't really seem to have caught on.
How about Facebook? Chuck, or should I say, Charles Clark has an Escola Bandeirante group on Facebook. What do you all think? Try it out - it's the new way to communicate. I have joined. I've seen 4 EBers in there.
I am not real familiar with Facebook so I can't really tell you how to join the EB group. I think you just go into Facebook, create an account and search for Escola Bandeirante or for certain people. Try Norma Anderson, Naomi Key, Bill Chick, Charles Clark, Janet Granski. From ours they will suggests people we know and you will have a chance to invite them to become your friends - if you know them and want them as friends. (You can hide personal information, put as little or as much about yourself as you wish. I don't understand why they have to know my birthday. I think that is too much information floating around so I made up a birthday and then hid it.)
Let me know if anyone is still getting on this blog. I'm just curious. I'd love for people to write about favorite memories, PE, dinner time, the river, vespers, serenades, the bell, etc...

Bill "Billy" Rudd
(He left this comment but I wanted it to be a post also.)
This is Bill "Billy" Rudd, I was in 7th grade at EB back in 1976-1977, my sister Jane was a senior there. I am very excited to see this blog and glad my mom sent this page to me with the picture of the Mussers. I don't have a facebook page, but I guess I need to get one. I have been married for 24 years (on Sept. 9) and have 3 boys who are all in college. My oldest is a history major, my middle a business major and my youngest just left for college as an education major on a basketball scholarship. We live in Ada, OK about 2.5 hours from Doug Yoder (who I didn't know lived in Oklahoma). I hope to stay in touch and give further updates down the road. I did put a highlight video of my youngest on Youtube, just type in Jake Rudd in the search field and you can see him. Thank you very much for starting this blog!!

"Chuck"
Well, you are not coming in droves to read and or comment on our fabulous blog, but that is OK. It takes a little time to get acclimated to new and WONDERFUL things. (I can say these things about this blog since I did not create it and Norma did. She did a beautiful job! I'm proud of my sis!)
OK, back to the topic, Chuck. I have entered the world of facebook. The other night, I was just minding my own business on facebook and this Charles Clark started IMing me. He asked if I was Norma, Elena and Jack's sister. Well, I remembered meeting Charles, aka Chuck at one of the EB reunions. So....... I wrote back and asked if he was "Chuck". How wonderful to connect with old friends, even if they are really your siblings friends. Thanks Charles (He no longer goes by Chuck.) for finding me.
Charles has also created a Facebook group called Escola Bandeirante. Mike Coleman, Linda Clark Oakley and Jo (Brokaw) Walton and I, have found and joined that group.

Rapa
You see the picture of Rapa and me watching volleyball. I just wanted to tell you how much fun it was to get caught up with Rapa. She has such a wonderful family. She has 2 beautiful daughters, one in school the other in college. Her son along with 3 or 4 young ladies and Beth, played several songs for us "soprando" (blowing) into a water bottle. We had such a great time making our own fun.
Just think! YOU could be part of all this fun tooooooooooo.

Thanks for the Blog. I hadn't hear from Kevin in a very long time.
Glad to hear news of Kevin.
My family just spent the last 10 years in the suburbs of a small town named Jesup in Georgia. I have had a job change and now and getting used to living in Jacksonville,FL (and big city traffic).
My oldest daughter is now 20 - going to college in Georgia, my youngest daughter is 16 and will be a junior in high school. My youngest just turned 7 and he will be going to first grade this month. We are about 5 minutes from the beach in Ponte Vedra so if you are driving by on 95 come by and see us.
Very glad to see that Harvey was able to go to the reunion!

Hi Norma,
I have many good memories of breakfast in your family's home as we made ourtrip from Sao Paulo to Ceres. Goiania was always a place to get a breakafter being on the bus for 18 hours.
Much has passed since EB, however, I am bless today to celebrate 10 years of marriage to Rebecca Laurin Smith and have Matt and Drew Smith brothers in law. In 2001 Rebecca and I moved to my father's home town in Iowa and built our home on one of my Grandfather's farms west of Wellman, IA. Rebecca did about 60% of the construction work on the house while she took a year away from work.
In 2002 Rebecca and I started Iowa Electronic Devices, Inc. in Washington IA and became dealers for iwireless [a T-Mobile affiliate] and Radio Shack. This year, we have added the True Value Hardware brand to our business since our local hardware store in the town where our business is located when out of business.
As for my brother Doug Yoder ... he and his family live near Prior OK. Doug and his wife, Leann, have five wonderful Kids. The two oldest, Christina and Laura, are married. Nathan, number 3, after winning a prestigious art competition at the University of Oklahoma, is off to the University on a scholarship. Leah and Zach are still at home. Leah is working this summer at Dry Gulch USA, their church camp where they also produce the TV series Gospel Bill and the Dry Gulch Gang. Zach is enjoying the pool this summer and an occasional trip to the bowling lanes.
We have blessed in our move to Iowa and last year one of the Mennonite MK's from Brasil [Ribeirao Preto, SP] that I grew up with moved to our town. Galen Graber, son of the late Harvey Graber and his mother Miriam, married one of our local girls whom he met at college. We now seem to have more Guarana' Antartica available!
Blessings to all,
Kevin Yoder

From Two EBers
From Matt Smith: Got this reponse from Janet Naedele: GREAT IDEA!!! So good to see pictures of middle aged EBers! Ha! One suggestion--when posting pictures, please add last names so we know for sure who they are.
Janet - we discussed this during our business meeting and are concerned about privacy issues. I'd love to hear from as many of you as possible about having last names on the blog. I am not sure if we actually said we should definately not have them or if that was the impression I got. Those of you who were there, help me remember. Others, please give me your opinions. Norma Cowsert Anderson (normalee74@gmail.com)
Here s a comment from Kim Haubner it's under one of the older posts so I thought I'd include it here: Hi! It brought back so many memories seeing all the pictures of everyone, especially Uncle Harvey, Aunt Doris and Janet. Maybe my family and I can make it next EB reunion!! Oh! I'm Kim Whitacre (Haubner). Naomi and Elena how's Jackie? The blog is a great idea, I'm learning right along with you, I've never done this before either!! Talk to you later. Kim

EB Reunion July 2008
I just thought I would write saying that it was really fun to get to see those who were able to attend the reunion. I would like to say that it would have been sooooooo much more fun if more of you had come, specifically the Presbyterian group. I know you all have your Mission gathering usually right after the EB gathering, but…….., we miss getting to see, fellowship, and interact with you. Hopefully next time more of you will be able to make the trip.
Also, I would love to get to see the class of ’72. Bill and I have class reunions when I go to Jacksonville to see Norma and family. Of course that is 50 % of the class, but Rick and Susan, we would love to see you also and know what is going on with you and yours.
Please know that you are missed when you are not able to make it. Everyone of you is such an integral part of our time at Bandeirante, even the ones we did not know there, but have come to admire as we have gotten to know you here in the US.

Other Purposes of this Blog
I thought it would also be nice if we shared stories about our times at EB, our reunions, and even struggles we are going through (that would help us know how to pray for each other).
By the way, Bill Chick will be leaving tomorrow with our church to go on a mission trip to Nicaragua. Please pray for him to be used in a mighty way. I know he will be preaching at least once using an interpreter. He is our Sunday School teacher and is a great teacher. Pray specifically for his health on this trip. They return Sat. Aug. 9.

Purpose of Blog
During our EB Reunion 2008 we decided we would like a blog that would be used to help us stay in touch with EB alumni, find EB alumni, and be used as a tool for posting prayer requests. I must admit I am just learning. I’ve enjoyed reading my adult “kid's” blogs but am new at creating a blog and managing it. If you have something you would like me to post, you can
- e-mail me at normalee74@gmail.com (If you do not want your last name included, be sure you omit it from the e-mail. This may get challenging as we often refer to EB family groups as we speak/write.)
- you can add a comment about something that has already been posted by clicking on the word "comment" at the bottom of each post
- you can become an author by e-mailing Norma at the above address (Your Blog Team: Annette, Lynne and Norma. Matt will be the one who communicates to EBers about this blog.)
Keep the purpose of this blog in mind when posting or commenting.
